When we launched HappyLetter.org, it was originally intended as a place on the web for happy letter recipients to learn more about the letter that they had received. We recognized that some recipients might have questions about their happy letters. After all, receiving a letter from a complete stranger can be an odd and unsettling thing.
In developing HappyLetter.org, we also realized that there might be some people that may be interested in becoming happy letter writers themselves. What better way to spread happiness, than by empowering others to write their own happy letters. So we started developing some tools to help people with their own happy letter writing and to connect with others.
Through this process, we have come to realize that our little letter-writing effort has a lot of good company! In fact, the community of happy letter writers is well established!
This came as a surprise to us here at HappyLetter.org in large part because we couldn’t imagine that anyone else was as crazy as we were about spreading happiness. As a result, our development was undertaken independently and in ignorance of other happy letter writers.
It was only when we started developing social media tools that we started to discover our fellow happy letter writers in all their diverse and splendid forms.
So we just want to take a moment to say ‘Hello” to all of our fellow happy letter writers across the globe. We are grateful for this healthy community of happy letter writers.
